Despite all the innovative ideas and products in the world, 50% of new businesses close up shop before their fifth year of operation. Starting a business takes courage, bravery, and support. Surrounding yourself with the right people, receiving valuable advice and being able to count on a strong network of peers are all factors that can help a startup succeed.
The AQT is launching its Business Succession Fund, a fund for the next generation, to support the efforts of Quebec’s technology startups and build on the values of generosity and mutual aid that define its member community. The Fund strives to increase tech startups’ chances of success by fostering business opportunities and promoting mutual aid and personalized support.

We had just entered the market when we received a startup grant from the AQT. We were offered a program that included substantial discounts for both the Vision PDG and Big Bang events. On top of that, we were able to meet key industry contacts who gave valuable advice.

Since we joined the AQT, our company has grown from 10 to 75 employees. The Young Enterprise grant offered by the AQT allowed us to invest in the development of our business network and especially to access leaders with many years of experience. At the time of this scholarship in 2018, our company had to make very informed choices and the scholarship program made many services available that we would surely have deprived ourselves of.
